How to play

The board

• The board stands upright, with seven columns and six rows. Each player has twenty-one discs.
• The board starts empty.

Taking a turn

• You choose a column rather than a square.
• The disc falls to the lowest free space in that column, so where it lands depends on the discs already there.
• A full column cannot be played.

Winning

• Four of your discs in an unbroken line wins immediately.
• The line can run across, straight up, or diagonally either way.
• No disc is ever taken off the board. Every move adds one, so you can see the whole game at a glance.

Draws

• If all forty-two spaces fill and neither player has a line, the game is drawn.
