How to play

The board

• Seven columns and six rows, standing upright. Twenty-one discs each.
• The board starts empty.

Taking a turn

• You choose a column rather than a square.
• The disc falls to the lowest free space in that column, so where it lands is up to the discs already there.
• A full column cannot be played.

Winning

• Four of your discs in an unbroken line wins immediately.
• The line can run across, straight up, or diagonally either way.
• Nothing is ever taken off this board. Every move only adds, which is what makes the whole game visible at a glance.

Draws

• If all forty-two spaces fill and neither player has a line, the game is drawn.
